Privacy Policy
Effective date: 5 June 2026
nofocus is built on a single promise: your attention is yours, and so is your data. The extension runs entirely on your own device. We have no servers that see your browsing, no account, and no tracking.
chrome.storage.local).
None of it is ever transmitted to us or anyone else. We literally
cannot see it.
1. Data the extension collects
The nofocus browser extension stores the following locally on your device only, and never sends it anywhere:
- The list of sites you choose to block, and any allowed exceptions.
- Your daily attempt counts and the activity log shown in the popup.
- Your settings (friction timer, unlock window, theme, custom sentences, focus schedules, daily budget).
This data stays in chrome.storage.local. It is removed
when you uninstall the extension or clear the extension's storage.
There is no backend, no account, and no sync server.
2. Data we do not collect
- We do not collect your browsing history.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking pixels.
- We do not set cookies in the extension.
- We do not require — or offer — an account or sign-in.
- We do not sell or share personal information with anyone.
3. Pro purchases (the one exception)
If you choose to buy nofocus Pro, the purchase is handled by our payment provider ExtensionPay, which processes payments through Stripe. To complete and verify a purchase, you provide an email address, and payment details are entered directly on their secure checkout. We never receive or store your card details.
ExtensionPay and Stripe process this limited data as independent providers under their own privacy policies:
Your Pro license status is checked so the extension can unlock Pro features. If you never buy Pro, none of this applies — the free experience remains 100% local.
4. This website (nofoc.us)
The nofoc.us landing page is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.). As with any web host, GitHub may process standard technical server-log data (such as IP addresses and user-agent) to deliver the page and protect its infrastructure. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
This website also uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service by Google Ireland Ltd. It helps us understand, in aggregate, how many people visit and which pages they read, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data — including a shortened IP address, device and browser information, referring page, and the pages you view on nofoc.us. This data may be transferred to and processed by Google LLC in the United States under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We use this only for the website's own analytics; we do not use it for advertising or sell it. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser. For more, see Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from sites that use its services. The lawful basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Note: the nofocus extension itself contains no analytics — the tracking described here applies only to this marketing website.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
Because we don't hold your personal data on any server, there is generally nothing for us to access, export, or delete on your behalf — your data is in your hands, on your device. For the limited purchase data held by our payment providers, or for any privacy question, you can contact us anytime (Section 7). If you are in the EEA/UK you retain your rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
6. Children
nofocus is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process data from children.
7. Contact
For any privacy question, contact sergej@mindcom.io.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
